The Sunday Truce

It is downright stupid how many times events in the news or just general conversations can be summed up by a scene from the Wire. The Wire was only one of the top 5 TV shows ever produced, right next to Ducktales, Breaking Bad, Animaniacs, and insert another show here.

First the story, then the clip.

Tough talk from Rahm on cop crackdowns at gang funerals

Police are searching for weapons parking lot St. Andrew Temple Baptist Church W. Marquette Rd. after report gun car

Police are searching for weapons in parking lot of St. Andrew Temple Baptist Church, W. Marquette Rd., after report of gun in a car at funeral for Sherman Miller, a Gangster Disciples member killed on the steps of a Church, Tuesday, December 4, 2012 . | John H. White~Sun-Times

Gang funerals in Chicago will be treated like “gang events” — with pat-downs and police muscle — because gang leaders have shown “no respect” for neighborhoods where those funerals take place, Mayor Rahm Emanuel said Wednesday.
One day after Chicago Police officers showed up in force at a gang funeral, Emanuel warned gang leaders to get used to it. Gang funerals will no longer be treated as sacred events.
“Where there’s a gang funeral — given that they have shown no respect for a place of worship — we’re going change how they’re going to operate. The Police Department is going to change the way they deal with gang funerals,” the mayor said.
This year, many of those gang funeral processions have ended at Mount Hope Cemetery on the outskirts of the Southwest Side. Residents are fed up with cars weaving in and out of the processions and calls of shots being fired.
A source in the Morgan Park District on the Southwest Side estimated five to 10 of the district’s squad cars are assigned to each gang funeral, representing up to 30 percent of the available police vehicles in the district.
The source estimated at least one gang funeral a week has rolled through the district for the last several months. Other districts, as well as Chicago Police gang units, the Cook County sheriff’s office and other departments also provide officers to monitor gang funerals, the source said.
“They’re tying up resources left and right,” the source said of the gang funerals.
Still, Ald. Matt O’Shea (19th) applauded the mayor’s decision to get tough on them. Mount Hope, at 115th and Fairfield, is ground zero for the problems, he said.
“We’ve had shots fired into the air. Offenders fleeing police and throwing loaded guns out of cars. High-speed chases down our side streets. We’ve had altercations where people attending gang funerals have verbally assaulted residents,” O’Shea said.
“What these gangbangers are doing is inexcusable,” he said. “It’s got to stop to protect the residents of my community.”
Last week, a gunman fatally shot a reputed gang member on the steps of a South Side church after a funeral for another man. The brazen act of violence was shocking, even by Chicago standards.
Determined to avoid a repeat, dozens of officers, some armed with assault rifles, were assigned to monitor Tuesday’s funeral of Sherman Miller, last week’s murder victim.
The Chicago Sun-Times reported that officers watched from a distance as Miller’s associates flashed gang signs and danced to rap music blaring from their cars in the church parking lot.
When the funeral ended, officers ordered them to leave. Some argued with police before they drove away.
A police helicopter was on stand-by to escort the funeral procession to the cemetery and watch for illegal conduct, but the burial was canceled because Miller’s family was apparently unable to pay the bill.
There were police cars from several departments waiting near Mount Hope Cemetery before the procession was called off, a source said.
Emanuel unleashed his anger about the behavior at gang funerals after voicing his frustration that the number of murders and shootings in Chicago is rising while overall crime is down roughly 10 percent this year.
The mayor made it clear he’s not losing faith in police Supt. Garry McCarthy or his crime-fighting strategies. McCarthy’s continued shake-up of district commanders — with 19 of 23 now replaced under his watch — is aimed at reducing shootings, the mayor said.
McCarthy recently put new commanders in the Central, Deering, Monroe and Lincoln districts. The spike in gang violence in the Deering District was such a priority, McCarthy shifted Joseph Gorman, commander of gang investigations, to become the new Deering District commander.

NOW....the WIRE explains why these young cats have no morals...

Just for a bonus, a 2nd vid to explain whats going on in Chicago and every other messed up part of the world.

Up in the club

This was buried on Frank Ocean's Channel Orange. It was looped in with another song that was a little too happy for me. It is the beat that you hear in the first 2 minutes of the song.

This was posted for a few reasons:
  1. Damn I love the strippers....#2chainz
  2. This inspired a tattoo
  3. I like Frank Ocean
  4. He actually spent some time/money on this video.
  5. I was sweating like he was at the club on Saturday.
Enjoy.

Truth or Truth, pt 4 - Anniversaries

Shout out to all the people that act like they like each other on Holidays and the Wedding Anniversary only.  Throw in every other birthday, graduations, and funerals, those are the real couples. The ones that neither person is really that interested but at the same time got to much time, money, kids, time (yep said it twice), emotional baggage, or just know they can't do no better because they tried, those are the real couples. They probably the only ones that will make it past half of this list. That being said, how about we review what we really want on those special days in which we remember how much money we spent on a ring and a cake and some damn party favors. All we really celebrating is that bachelor party.....ya dig. So here is a Guide to Anniversary Gifts for Him.
1st Wedding Anniversary
Traditional Gifts: Paper
Modern Gifts: Clocks
My proposal:  Lets blend the two, how about spend some paper on a nice watch. And if the guy doesnt wear a watch, how about upgrade his cell phone. Cell phone is a good idea because he couldn't upgrade before now because he bought you a damn ring. He had the same flip phone since forever. This helps, and besides, now he can't use the excuse that he didn't get your call/text. "Baby you know my phone don't work." He rocking this old phone you see talking about its 4g. Child please.
2nd Wedding Anniversary
Traditional Gifts: Cotton
Modern Gifts: China
My proposal:  Go traditional with cotton. And not slavery cotton some socks and t-shirts, hook up the wardrobe. We been rocking the same clothes we bought since we first met you and went out and bought a few new "work" shirts. All of our collars are yellow and the shirts got that permanent crease line. Hook us up. Go get a Macy's card, Kohl's, something.
3rd Wedding Anniversary
Traditional Gifts: Leather
Modern Gifts: Crystal
My proposal:  By year 3, we probably knocked you up for the 1st or 2nd time, so we probably don't have too much money to spend on one another so lets take a year off and regroup. Something simple like getting us a massage (or giving one) with a happy ending. Those are on Groupon everyday. Your broke ass got $40 to get your hair done, you can get us a massage.
4th Wedding Anniversary
Traditional Gifts: Fruit or Flowers
Modern Gifts: Appliances
My proposal:  By now, we barely like each other but you gotta do something.Dinner and a movie will suffice.
5th Wedding Anniversary
Traditional Gifts: Wood
Modern Gifts: Silverware
My proposal:This is the turning point where you have to put in your cards or just say eff it and y'all pretty much have an understanding that you won't be together too much longer. If you want to keep him, you go all out in the freaky department...I'm talking about birthday, xmas, and valentine's freaky rolled into one night. The high heels, the nasty stuff we like, and how about some anal.
6th Wedding Anniversary
Traditional Gifts: Candy or Iron
Modern Gifts: Wood
My proposal: IF you made it this far and things are on the up and up, you gotta outdo last year. Now it is time for that infamous homemade video we been requesting. Oh yeah, we should have already been practicing, but we gotta go full scale production level on this one. Buy some new lamps, multiple angles, we already got the editing software. And you thought we was chopping and screwing videos of the kids because we love them. That was practice.
7th Wedding Anniversary
Traditional Gifts: Wool or Copper
Modern Gifts: Desk Sets
My proposal: Ok ok ok. You have reached your nasty limit for the time being. Thats fine, this year is easy. It's the ever so needed Hall Pass. Yep, just like the movie. Yep again, don't try to change the rules that the movie outlined. Yep, one whole week off from marriage. We will check in two times per day, anything other than that is considered a bonus.
8th Wedding Anniversary
Traditional Gifts: Bronze or Pottery
Modern Gifts: Linens or Lace
My proposal: Simple, new golf clubs. We have worn out the ones we had from college or our started set we got when we got that first job. Plus, we need a hobby before we kill you and the kids.
9th Wedding Anniversary
Traditional Gifts: Pottery and Willow
Modern Gifts: Leather
My proposal: Bed n breakfast....trip to a sporting event....something off the bucket list... this is that weird not really there yet year, like when you turn 20, its better than 18 but not really 21. 10th Anniversary is turning 21. Don't blow that one. This year will be forgotten anyway.
10th Wedding Anniversary
Traditional Gifts: Tin or Aluminum
Modern Gifts:Diamond Jewelry
My proposal: How about the following....the woman gets the bigger ring, the man gets a menage. Yep. You had 3 years of anniversary freaky layoff to build up to this. Time for the excitement. Time to bond together, explore new territory (or revisit your pre-marriage days, depends on how you rolled), and get that fire back. Nothing sparks the fire like new pussy. If your man hasn't cheated, this is like a dream and a half coming true. If he cheated, chances are you did too so I guess it's just putting things on the table. Besides, Kanye told us we deserve it.

15th Wedding Anniversary
Traditional Gifts: Crystal
Modern Gifts: Watches
My proposal: After 10 years, let's face it, the real celebrations will be the ones every 5 years so on those in between times, nice dinner, sex, something new will suffice. At 15 years, you are broke from the kids entering high school or entering college, play it safe and just buy a new TV, like THIS BIG.
20th Wedding Anniversary
Traditional Gifts: China
Modern Gifts: Platinum
My proposal: You are officially the Cosbys. Take a trip out of the country and wild the hell out. What happens in Budapest, stays in Budapest. Or something like that.
25th Wedding Anniversary
Traditional Gifts: Silver
Modern Gifts: Silver
My proposal: Buy each other matching tombstones and go ahead and get the side by side plots because you stuck together at this point. Nothing hasn't been said, heard, discussed, discharged, or secreted from each other's bodies that will shock either person at this point.
30th Wedding Anniversary
Traditional Gifts: Pearl
Modern Gifts: Diamond
My proposal: I have no advice. Hope your life insurance is paid up I guess.

I speak the truth....you know it.
This has nothing to do with nothing except it's new and its called Truth, Pac Div. Good mixtape, GMB.

They Hate us for our Freedom

This is serious. Next time any American kid tries to pull the can you drop me off at school because its cold at the bus stop routine, or my book bag is too heavy carrying my Ipad, show them this footage. And dumb Tea Baggers wonder why they look so stupid yelling crap like "They hate us for our freedom" and "Take our country back". Nobody wants this raggedy shit known as the US of Hate. They do want to be able to go to school, take advantage of crap that we take for granted.

Another example.

Despite the poor transport links the Indonesian island has a population of 137 million, meaning it is the world’s most populous island, and one of the most densely-populated places on the globe.

Truth or Truth pt 3

Lets keep the party going why don't we....
What is up with this checklist? Don't get me wrong, everybody should have some sort of standards when it comes to finding that significant other or even dating. Don't settle for anything because you get what you ask for.

Let's check out the list for guys....

That's about it. Funny thing is, this should be the list for everybody right? We can assume that crackhead, thief, rapist, and any other thing you can get charged with are automatically off the list for both genders. Someone with most of their teeth, a job, less than 3 illegitimate kids that they know about, I mean some standards.

Guys want someone that is attractive to them (buyer's choice only), that doesn't get on their nerves, good mother, and pays for 40% of the bills. Yep. That's about it.

Now for the ladies....

Ladies....I love you I really do. I mean love you in all the ways you allow me. Yes that includes anal. But why does your list look like this? You list has a table of contents, a wiki page and some references. You list has a version for dummies that is still 10 pages long. You list has an addendum that is notarized. WTF!!!!

Your list doesn't even have logic. Gotta be this height, make this much money, have this many degrees and still keep it hood. Gotta want and love kids. Gotta love God and Allah. What? Why do women try to size you up too like they can tell the items you fit on their checklist before you even try to approach them. He too short, he ain't packing...WHAT? He only got one drink, he broke. He rode with his friends, he must not have a car and live with his momma. WHATTT? Bish, I just wanted to save my gas money...smh.

All I'm saying is put the list down and go with it. Stop listening to your girlfriends when y'all in that huddle calling plays at the club too. It's a reason those hoes lonely too. The best person you probably will meet is just waiting for you to put that guard down.

Remember, its really not that hard if you throw that list out.
Love isn't complicated....people are.

Truth or Truth...pt2

Last one was rant style. How about this time we go with a list of 10? Topic - Marriage.

  1. If you want to stay married, you must lie. Not just the little white lies, but the big lies. In the words of the great street poet Slim Charles, "once you in it...you in it. If its a lie, we fight on that lie, but we gotta fight." Youtube it. The Wire, words to live by. But back to lying, nobody wants to hear the truth or face the truth of "I really hate this mother fucker" "I wish you died in your sleep" "I want to cheat on you 366 days of the year with your best friend' realities. You have those days where you have to fight on that lie.
  2. Cheat - Let's face it, the majority of married people don't have sex. If they do, the sex is so wack and expected, its about the same excitement as washing the dishes or cutting the grass. If the spontaneous freakynastiness has left the room, you know right after you say I do, then you need a side piece. Somebody needs to relieve that stress. Blue balls kills. Backs up your prostate. Proven fact. Don't kill yourself.
  3. Work more hours - Nothing makes men happier than making money. Real men anyway. Pick up some more hours or a coaching job to make sure your hours at home are limited in every capacity. Besides, might be a good cover for #2.
  4. Send your significant other to spend some time with somebody you know relationship is more messed up than yours. I call it the scared straight approach.
  5. Don't fall for the banana in the tailpipe. No, this is not some prison joke. When you hear the words, "We need to talk" "What's wrong" "Why don't you talk to me", it is bait for you to tell the truth and speak honestly. Honesty comes with a price. Don't let the innocence in the voice fool you. You still can not say exactly what you want to say and how you want to say it. It has to be crafted in a delicate way for them to understand you. Think about it this way, they already know what is wrong etc. because they know what you cussed them out about or gave them the STFU face. If they didn't understand you the first 7 times you said it, what makes you think yelling at them and calling them names is going to accomplish a different result? It's almost like writing a college thesis. If they don't get it after that, fuck em...they never will understand.
  6. Save your money on the side - lawyers are expensive. That's not it. You have to buy simple stuff again like a toaster, pizza plate, new favorite cup, socks after she cut all the toes out of your socks. Just saying.
  7. Give a genuine effort. No really. I know stop laughing. But really try to do all the little things that you hate to do. You know like hold hands in public, have a conversation, enjoy a meal without calling the other person a dumb bish, the little things matter. Remember the person's birthday without the help of a facebook popup.
  8. STFU - Yes. Shut up. Please shut up. Right now. No more comments. Just leave us along. Everybody needs some me time. Don't bombard us as soon as we come in the house. Unless its on some nasty level at least 20% of the time. Gotta keep us on our toes, can't always be a honey-do list.
  9. Give up - you gonna end up like your grandparents that yell at each other 30 yrs from now. Aint nothing wrong with just holding on or hanging in so long that your stock has fell below the break even point. At that point, there is an understanding that neither person likes each other unless in the presence of the kids or white people they don't know.
  10. Give up. Pay child support and alimony.

Spin Cycle

Truth or Truth?

Truth About Divorce
I'm pretty sure every married person has thought about divorce, not just once, not just after they were married and way before things get to the point of "irretrievably broken beyond repair".  I thought about it for years. didn't see myself doing it for a number of reasons that maybe I will get into later.  I actually scared myself into staying but things were not getting better and there was no sign of better days or progression or whatever. I had to swallow my pride and sanity for a while to leave. For anyone that has done it or even tried to do it and went back, its a hard thing to do. I see how people get back together. Its the familiarity among other things, but there has to be change after the first flag is thrown for things to work out the second time if there is a second time. Didnt see that happening on either side in my case, and everyone knows there significant other to know if that will work or not. That being said, it is an interesting process to say the least. Here are some things that they don't tell you.

Things they dont tell you....
Its not easy. New routes to work. Finding dinner. Holidays are different (or better depending on how you had it). Dating has CHANGED. Women only dance in circles of themselves at the club. Everybody broadcast everything on social networks. Thats also how they do your background check. Texting and sexting is overrated, I prefer direct interaction. Women have to stop claiming their are no good men, you only like the bad ones. And why are women weed heads...not cute. Moderation is better, no throwing up at the club because you drank to much. Strippers are FUN. Almost all women are looking for the full monte fast. And then they throw you the drawls on the first night. Moral of the story....women confuse the hell out of men. Chivalry is dead and women executed that mother fucker...one shot to the head type murder death kill stuff. It almost doesn't pay to be nice to women. Holding doors, speaking, smiling, acknowledging them in any way automatically puts you in boyfriend category for some reason. No I don't want to meet your kids on the second date. Honesty is overrated, I answer all questions like I'm in court, no self incrimination and no extra information needed. Nice guys like sex too. Lawyers are expensive and sometimes useless. They basically seem like they are googling the same shit you ask them. Other times lawyers are needed, people are spiteful. You can't put it on a woman either...they are instantly in love. You get more desirable the older you are (compared to the competition...we are the shit now, got a car, job, all of our teeth, can hold a conversation, make em climax, just to name a few...we are HIGHLY desirable). All of those things didnt matter to most people when we were younger, it was still like high school. That takes some time to get used to. Nobody is off limits now.

To be continued....
